2019 Scholarship Program Recipients
For years, Houston Texas Fire Fighters Federal Credit Union has been helping current and prospective students cover part of their college expenses. Every summer, your credit union awards six $1,000 scholarships to college-bound applicants meeting eligibility criteria and successfully completing the application process. Below are this years hardworking recipients!
Abigail is from Sugarland, Texas. She currently has a 4.0 GPA and would like to attend Hardin Simmons University to study Athletic Training. Not only is Abigail part of the National Honor Society, but she also is a member of the Varsity Tennis team. When she isn’t at school or tennis, you might find Abigail exploring her other passion - working with horses.

Ryan is attending Lone Star College in Montgomery and holds a 3.7 GPA. He is currently in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program with the long-term goal of becoming a Physical Therapist. A couple of Ryan’s major accomplishments include Organizing/Volunteering for the Healthier U Expo and volunteering for the Porter Fire Department. Ryan has a deep love for fishing and hanging out with his family and friends.

Madison is a student at Stephen F. Austin State University and is majoring in Nutrition with the long-term goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian. Madison not only holds a GPA of 3.0, she also loves spending her time playing volleyball and has participated in the SFA Volleyball Club this past spring. When asked what she is most looking forward to in the next ten years, her response was “Building relationships, getting my education, and manifesting my dreams!”

A native of Houston, Colby, holds a 3.6 GPA and hopes to attend Grove City College in Pennsylvania so that he can pursue a career in Marketing/ Management. Along with being a member of the National Honor Society, Colby is also the Leader of the School Worship Band! When asked, “What would his dream job be?” he responded by saying, “To be an adventure photographer for National Geographic.”

Taylor is currently attending the University of St. Thomas and is majoring in General Business. He would like to pursue a career in law. Not only does Taylor maintain a 3.9 GPA, but he also has won the Presidential Service Award for 500 plus hours of community service. In his downtime, you may find him either outside riding his bike or indoors watching football and basketball games on T.V.

Savannah is from Pearland, Texas. She currently has a 3.7 GPA is planning to attend Texas State University. Savannah’s goal is to become an Oncology Nurse. When she isn’t hitting the books, you may find Savannah volunteering at her local animal shelter or tutoring classmates.
